(Fort McMurray, AB – April 25, 2022) – The Wood Buffalo 2023 Arctic Winter Games Host Society is thrilled to announce its partnership with FuseSocial to assist in the recruitment of approximately 2,000 Games volunteers.

For the next ten months, FuseSocial will work with the Games’ Volunteer Committee in the registration, screening, role assignments and orientation of all volunteers.

“National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to celebrate the vibrancy and impact of volunteerism in our communities and we couldn’t think of a better time to share this news,” said Nicole Clow, General Manager. “FuseSocial has a strong history of promoting volunteerism in the region, and with their help, we will ensure every resident has the opportunity to be a part of this celebration.”

FuseSocial was formed in 2013 with the merging of three philosophically and practically like-minded organizations, which includes Volunteer Wood Buffalo – a program that matches people with available volunteer opportunities.

“We are excited for this partnership with the Arctic Winter Games and support the high volume of volunteers required for the week-long event,” said Chantal Beaver, FuseSocial Executive Director. “The NorthStar Ford Wood Buffalo Volunteer Centre, a branch of FuseSocial, is up for the challenge and is eager to get residents involved in this world-class international event that will also support a long-lasting legacy of volunteers for the region.”

The official volunteer recruitment launches this fall, but people can register their interest now on Wood Buffalo Volunteers website at
